Elif Eralp, Die Linke’s top candidate for the September 20, 2026 Abgeordnetenhaus election, leads the market at 80.5% implied probability following her party’s polling surge to around 20–22% in recent surveys. Die Linke’s emphasis on housing affordability, including implementation of the 2021 expropriation referendum and expanded tenant protections, has driven voter momentum in Berlin’s fragmented landscape. Coalition arithmetic favors a three-party arrangement with the SPD and Greens, positioning Eralp to become Governing Mayor if her party emerges strongest. Stefan Evers, the CDU’s replacement candidate after Kai Wegner’s withdrawal, trails at 16.5% amid a tight race with other parties. Resolution depends on post-election coalition negotiations and parliamentary majority formation.
