Omarion Hampton enters his second NFL season as the Los Angeles Chargers’ lead back after a 2025 rookie year limited to nine games and four rushing touchdowns by a fractured ankle. With starting tackles Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt healthy, an upgraded offensive line, and new coordinator Mike McDaniel emphasizing a versatile run game, Hampton projects for a significantly higher workload in a more efficient offense led by Justin Herbert. McDaniel has signaled a hot-hand approach that includes Kimani Vidal and Keaton Mitchell, which could limit Hampton’s goal-line touches, though his physical running style and pass-catching role position him for the bulk of scoring opportunities. Recent analyst projections center on 8–10 rushing touchdowns assuming health and consistent volume.
