Dallas Goedert enters the 2026 regular season as the Philadelphia Eagles' primary tight end following A.J. Brown's departure, positioning him for an increased red-zone role alongside DeVonta Smith and quarterback Jalen Hurts. The 31-year-old posted a career-high 11 receiving touchdowns on 60 catches in 15 games during 2025, but analysts widely anticipate regression toward his prior career average of roughly three to five scores per season given unsustainable efficiency metrics and expected touchdown rate normalization. A second-round rookie tight end adds depth behind him, while Goedert's history of multiple missed games per year due to various injuries remains a factor in workload projections. The Eagles' Week 1 opener against Washington offers an early look at his usage in an offense emphasizing short-to-intermediate targets and red-zone opportunities.
