Imelda Castro Castro holds a commanding lead in the Sinaloa governor election market at 76.5% because Morena, in alliance with PT and PVEM, formally designated her state coordinator for the defense of the transformation on August 26, 2026, after an internal registration process that drew more than a dozen aspirants. This early national-level backing positions her as the party’s presumptive nominee for the June 6, 2027, vote, ahead of other registered figures such as María Teresa Guerra Ochoa, Graciela Domínguez Nava, and Gerardo Vargas Landeros. The decision followed the prolonged licensing and interim arrangements surrounding former governor Rubén Rocha Moya amid federal investigations, allowing national leadership to consolidate support behind Castro while sidelining competing local factions. Traders price the remaining listed candidates at single-digit or minimal levels consistent with their lack of comparable party infrastructure or recent endorsements.
