The Trujillo mayoral race remains closely contested ahead of the October 4 vote, with traders assigning Víctor Robert De La Cruz Rosas a narrow edge over incumbent Mario Reyna Rodríguez. Recent mid-August polls show Reyna leading in raw preference but with significant undecided voters and fragmentation among challengers including Víctor León Álvarez and Roy Arbaiza Corcuera. De La Cruz benefits from his regional councilor profile and Podemos Perú backing, while Reyna’s reelection bid faces headwinds from APP’s weaker local performance in the April general elections and a crowded field of 15 candidates. Upcoming campaign events and final poll releases could shift the narrow gap reflected in current pricing.
