Incumbent Republican Tony Wied holds a commanding position in Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District race, reflecting the area's consistent Republican voting patterns over the past two decades and his unopposed primary victory on August 11, 2026. The district, encompassing northeastern Wisconsin including Green Bay and Appleton, has favored GOP candidates in recent House elections, with forecasters rating it Solid or Safe Republican. Democrat Rick Crosson, a former Green Bay school board member and retired Army officer, emerged from a competitive three-way primary but faces structural challenges in a low-turnout general election scheduled for November 3. Trader consensus aligns with these fundamentals, though late developments such as shifts in national sentiment or candidate-specific events could still influence outcomes before ballots are cast.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
