The Prešov Region governor race remains fragmented ahead of the October 24, 2026, combined regional and municipal elections, with incumbent Milan Majerský (KDH) holding the highest implied probability amid a crowded field that includes Milan Mazurek (Republika), Judita Laššáková (Smer-SD), Samuel Migaľ (independent), Monika Lešková (SNS), and several others. Majerský’s positioning draws from his nine-year record on road infrastructure and schools plus a coalition of center-right parties, while Laššáková’s late-July entry as Smer’s nominee—after the party declined to back Mazurek—further splits the government-leaning vote. Mazurek and Migaľ each draw distinct bases but face headwinds from prior controversies and the lack of unified backing. The resulting vote fragmentation sustains tight probabilities across top contenders, with separation likely depending on turnout patterns, any late endorsements, or campaign focus on regional priorities such as transport links, demographics, and cross-border cooperation.
