Emeka Egbuka enters his second NFL season as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' clear No. 1 wide receiver following Mike Evans' departure, positioning the 2025 first-round pick for increased targets alongside Baker Mayfield. A toe sprain sustained in August joint practices resolved fully, allowing him to post five receptions for 63 yards on six targets in Week 1 without limitation. Jalen McMillan's knee injury further opens opportunities in the passing game, though Chris Godwin and rookie Ted Hurst remain factors in the receiving corps. Egbuka's rookie output of 63 catches, 938 yards, and six touchdowns featured early efficiency before a midseason drop-off in production and snaps once other options returned. His 2026 schedule and red-zone usage will influence touchdown totals, with historical second-year jumps for similar profiled receivers providing context for market expectations.
