Arsenal and Manchester City sit clear at the top of the early 2026-27 Premier League table after both sides opened with four straight wins, mirroring their 2025-26 title race in which Arsenal finished seven points ahead. Arsenal, the defending champions under Mikel Arteta, strengthened with high-profile additions and continue to post strong expected-goal metrics, while City, now managed by Enzo Maresca following Pep Guardiola’s departure, have maintained attacking output despite squad turnover. Bookmaker and prediction-market pricing places these two clubs as the overwhelming favorites to occupy the top two spots, with implied probabilities for either finishing outside the top two remaining very low. Early results from promoted sides and mid-table challengers have yet to alter that consensus, though fixture congestion and potential injuries could create openings later in the campaign.
