Domestic violence allegations against incumbent Republican Rep. Max Miller from his ex-wife, including claims of physical abuse and injury to their daughter, have shifted Ohio’s 7th congressional district race into a toss-up. These developments prompted calls from Republican figures for Miller to exit, though he has denied the claims and remains on the ballot. Democrat Brian Poindexter, a union ironworker and Brook Park city council member who won his primary, has gained national Democratic support through the DCCC Red to Blue program and is running on affordability, labor issues, and working-class representation. Recent polls show the contest near even or with Poindexter ahead, while Miller counters with attacks on Poindexter’s past legal issues. Traders appear to view the scandals and resulting Republican unease as tilting the November general election toward the challenger.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
