Welcome.

This is where I write when I’m not rushing to make sense of things.

I’m Noémie. Media lawyer, COO of a multimedia production company, writer, wife, and mother of two. I started Simmer Down as a place to slow my thoughts down enough to hear myself again. Somewhere along the way, it became a space for women who feel like they’re becoming something new, even if they don’t have language for it yet.

I write about motherhood, identity, marriage, ambition, and the in-between seasons that don’t fit neatly into captions. The stuff that feels too tender for Instagram. The stuff I’m still figuring out while I write it.

There’s no pressure to keep up here. No performance. Just honest writing, shared gently, in real time.

If you’re here, you’re right on time.

A note on paid:

Most of what I write is free, and that won’t change. The essays you come for will keep coming.

If you want more of me — the unfiltered behind-the-scenes, the messier in-real-time version of this work, and a way to support what I’m building — there’s a paid tier called the Inner Circle.

Inner Circle members get:

  • Behind the Build: one subscriber-only essay each month

  • Comments, chat threads, and a quarterly Q&A

  • Full access to the archive

The first 100 readers can join as Founding Members for $100/year, locked in for life. After that, regular pricing turns on.

Either way, I’m grateful you’re here.

xo, Noémie
