This market will resolve to “Yes” if any orbital data center is successfully launched by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. “Orbital data center” refers to any spacecraft, satellite, or equivalent technology carrying computing infrastructure that is launched into Earth’s orbit for the purpose of providing data-center, cloud-computing, or artificial intelligence computing services and which includes at least 100 data-center-grade AI accelerators, GPUs, TPUs, or substantially equivalent compute processors, (e.g. NVIDIA H100 GPUs, Google TPUs, or equivalent or successor chips). “Successfully launched” refers to any launch which successfully places a qualifying orbital data center into Earth’s orbit. The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.Major players including SpaceX, Blue Origin, Google, and Starcloud are advancing orbital AI compute to bypass terrestrial power and cooling limits for large language model training and inference. Starcloud demonstrated a single Nvidia H100 GPU in orbit on its November 2025 Starcloud-1 mission, successfully training a small model and running Gemini inference, while SpaceX detailed its AI1 satellite design in June 2026 targeting 150 kW peak compute and filed for up to one million satellites with deployment eyed as early as 2028. Google’s Project Suncatcher plans two TPU-equipped prototype satellites with Planet for early 2027 launches, and Blue Origin’s Project Sunrise filing covers 51,600 satellites. However, market resolution requires at least 100 data-center-grade accelerators on a launched spacecraft, a threshold no mission has yet met amid high launch costs, regulatory filings, and scaling challenges. Trader consensus reflects these near-term hurdles despite accelerating investment and technical proofs of concept.
