The market's near-certain consensus on a 76-77°F high for New York City on September 14 stems from verified National Weather Service observations at official stations, including Central Park, confirming that exact range as the day's peak under stable late-summer atmospheric conditions. This outcome matches typical early-September climatology for the region, where highs often settle near seasonal normals without significant heat waves or cold fronts. Trader positioning incorporates the finality of post-event data releases, leaving minimal room for revision. Only an unprecedented reanalysis or station equipment anomaly—both rare—could shift the recorded value outside this bin.
