Recent polling aggregates place the Parti Québécois first at roughly 28-29 percent, leaving a tight contest for second among the Parti libéral du Québec, Coalition Avenir Québec, and Parti conservateur du Québec. The PLQ has edged ahead in several September surveys after modest gains, while the CAQ has slipped slightly under new leader Christine Fréchette. Voter indecision remains elevated on cost-of-living and trade concerns, and regional patterns—particularly francophone support and urban-rural divides—continue to shape seat outcomes. With the October 5 election approaching and two leaders’ debates recently completed, further shifts in undecided voters or late campaign developments could widen or narrow the gap between the PLQ and CAQ for official opposition status.
