Incumbent Olivia Chow holds a commanding position in the October 26, 2026 Toronto mayoral race due to her established council support base and the advantages of office following her 2023 by-election victory. Recent August polling from multiple firms shows her leading Brad Bradford by 7–11 points among decided voters, with Chris Alexander drawing single-digit support that fragments potential opposition. Nominations closed on August 21 with over 50 candidates registered, yet no major shifts have altered the frontrunner dynamic in the past month. Campaigns have pivoted to responses on U.S. tariffs and local affordability, but these have not narrowed Chow’s edge in latest surveys. Prediction market pricing reflects traders’ assessment of these structural and polling factors heading into September debates.
