A.J. Brown enters the 2026 season as the New England Patriots’ clear No. 1 wide receiver after a June trade from Philadelphia, where he posted 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and 7 touchdowns in 15 games during 2025. Paired with quarterback Drake Maye, Brown is projected to command a 25% target share in an offense expected to feature heavy passing volume, building on his career marks of at least seven receiving scores in five of seven seasons. His role as the primary red-zone option and consistent deep threat supports touchdown production, though a managed degenerative knee condition and age-29 status introduce durability considerations. Recent camp reports confirm full participation and no limitations heading into the opener, with historical efficiency on targets inside the 20 supporting trader focus on whether volume translates to double-digit scores or settles near his recent average.
