Chase Brown enters the 2026 NFL season as the undisputed lead back for the Cincinnati Bengals, coming off a 2025 campaign in which he posted career highs of 1,019 rushing yards on 232 carries and 69 receptions. The Bengals return their entire starting offensive line, providing continuity for a ground game that Brown leads with support from backup Samaje Perine and limited depth behind him. Through Week 1, Brown handled 16 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown while adding five receptions, outpacing Perine in touches as Cincinnati’s offense leaned on the run despite modest per-carry efficiency. His contract-year status, heavy expected workload near 230 carries, and role in a pass-heavy attack featuring Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase shape expectations for his full-season rushing total amid a 17-game schedule.
