The new large language model delivers state-of-the-art performance in computer use, browser navigation, software engineering, and cybersecurity benchmarks such as ExploitBench at 100 percent, while incorporating enhanced alignment safeguards after prior incidents. Rollout began with limited enterprise partners in the Daybreak program before expanding to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscribers plus the API, underscoring OpenAI’s cautious approach to high-capability agents. Competitive pressure from models like Claude Opus 5 and internal scaling at the Stargate facility helped accelerate development, with leadership framing Astra as a potential AGI milestone. Upcoming API pricing details and broader availability this week remain key near-term catalysts for any lingering resolution questions.
