The 2026-27 Ligue 1 campaign opened just days ago with no team establishing clear defensive dominance, leaving trader consensus tightly bunched around 43-46% implied probabilities for the clean-sheet leader. Early matchweek results show Monaco, Paris FC, Lyon, and promoted side Troyes conceding the fewest goals so far, while Lens and Lille carry over strong 2025-26 defensive structures and goalkeeping options. Several mid-table and newly promoted clubs, including Le Mans, Angers, and Brest, enter with organized backlines or recent Ligue 2 records that could translate into sustained shutouts. With 34 matches remaining and variables such as squad rotation, injuries, and tactical adjustments still to play out, the wisdom of crowds prices this as an open race among a deep group of defensively competitive sides rather than a foregone outcome for any single club.
