Jonathan Taylor enters the 2026 NFL season as the Indianapolis Colts' undisputed lead back following a league-leading 18 rushing touchdowns and 1,585 yards on 323 carries in 2025. The 27-year-old secured his role with a recent two-year extension and continues to receive heavy volume as the clear workhorse, though concerns linger over the cumulative toll of back-to-back 300-carry seasons and efficiency dips tied to quarterback Daniel Jones' prior injury. With Jones expected healthy, the offensive line intact, and limited proven depth behind him, Taylor's goal-line opportunities and overall touches position him for another double-digit touchdown campaign, provided he avoids the late-season decline seen in prior years.
