Malik Willis enters the 2026 season as the Miami Dolphins' starting quarterback following a three-year contract signed in free agency after the team moved on from its prior starter. In Week 1, he completed 15 of 27 passes for 220 yards with one interception while adding 39 rushing yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Raiders. The Dolphins operate in a rebuild with an inexperienced receiving corps and new coaching staff, which could limit early passing volume. Willis has shown mobility and arm strength in prior limited appearances but took five sacks in his debut and is managing a minor toe injury that has not limited his practice participation. His upcoming matchup at San Francisco and the team's overall offensive line and scheme integration will influence weekly attempts and efficiency over the 17-game schedule.
