Malik Willis enters the 2026 NFL season as the Miami Dolphins’ clear starting quarterback after signing a three-year contract in the offseason following limited but efficient work as Jordan Love’s backup in Green Bay. Miami’s roster overhaul, including the departure of key wide receivers, points to a run-heavy scheme centered on De’Von Achane that could cap passing volume and scoring opportunities. Preseason showings highlighted Willis’s arm strength and mobility, with coaches noting improved comfort in the offense and chemistry-building with new pass-catchers. The Dolphins’ projected low win total and developmental focus may further constrain his touchdown output in a schedule that includes early tests against varied defenses. Trader sentiment reflects uncertainty around how much the young supporting cast and scheme will allow him to air it out over 17 games.
