Raphaël Glucksmann leads the first-round market at 88% after the September 16 confirmation of five validated candidates for the October 9-10 primary organized by the Parti socialiste and Place publique. His position stems from strong polling momentum since the 2024 European elections, endorsements from key PS figures, and positioning as the frontrunner to consolidate the social-democratic vote ahead of the 2027 presidential contest. Recent exclusion of Philippe Brun on violence-related allegations narrowed the field to Glucksmann, Olivier Faure, Ségolène Royal, Jérôme Guedj, and Emmanuel Maurel. Three televised debates scheduled before the first round and the open electronic voting format among militants and new members remain key variables that could influence turnout and final tallies.
