The Chiclayo mayoral race remains fragmented ahead of the October 4, 2026, vote, with trader pricing reflecting a crowded field of more than twenty candidates and limited recent polling differentiation. Edwin Gonzalo Vásquez Sánchez leads at 39% implied probability, consistent with July surveys showing him ahead on Alianza para el Progreso, followed by Elber Requejo Sánchez at 18% for Somos Perú. Multiple lower-polling contenders, including César Aurelio Rodríguez Valderrama, Jorge Luis Arboleda Ñeco, and Miguel Ángel Bartra Grosso, split remaining support across parties such as Fuerza Popular and Juntos por el Perú. The absence of decisive late-campaign events, endorsements, or scandals since candidate lists closed in early August has kept probabilities clustered, with separation likely to emerge only from final polling shifts, turnout patterns among key districts, or official results on election night.
