DeVonta Smith enters the 2026 NFL season as the Philadelphia Eagles’ clear No. 1 wide receiver following A.J. Brown’s offseason trade to New England, positioning him for a larger target share and potential career highs in receptions and yards after averaging 77 catches for 1,008 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games during 2025. Analysts project roughly 1,000–1,100 receiving yards based on his prior production when Brown was absent and his strong per-route efficiency, particularly when aligned outside. A mid-training-camp hamstring injury sidelined him for multiple practices but resolved without long-term concern, allowing full participation ahead of Week 1. The Eagles’ run-heavy scheme under Jalen Hurts and the addition of rookie Makai Lemon and other receivers introduce some target competition, yet Smith’s established rapport with the quarterback and consistent health record remain the primary drivers of market expectations for his season-long yardage total.
