Jake Ferguson enters the 2026 NFL season as the Dallas Cowboys’ clear starting tight end, coming off a career-high eight receiving touchdowns on 102 targets in 2025. He operates as the third option in the passing game behind wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, limiting his overall target share to roughly 16-17 percent while concentrating his production near the goal line. Dak Prescott’s continued health and the team’s high-volume aerial attack support Ferguson’s red-zone role, though competition for looks and occasional usage of backup Brevyn Spann-Ford could cap his volume. Recent contract restructuring and preseason availability position him for a similar workload to last year, with trader consensus reflecting modest regression risk from his prior spike.
