Lindsay Clancy’s ongoing murder trial in Plymouth Superior Court centers on whether jurors accept her defense team’s postpartum psychosis insanity claim after she admitted to strangling her three young children in 2023. With deliberations now in their third day following five weeks of testimony from dozens of medical experts, family members, and psychiatric witnesses, the market’s 70.5% implied probability on “No” conviction reflects trader assessment that the strong evidence of severe mental illness, overmedication, and lack of criminal responsibility could produce a not-guilty-by-reason-of-insanity verdict or lesser charges. Prosecutors’ emphasis on apparent planning has not yet produced a swift guilty outcome, and the jury’s extended deliberations plus the availability of a manslaughter instruction underscore the contested nature of criminal responsibility in this case.
