This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed country officially recognizes Israel as a state between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of intentions will not suffice to resolve this market to "Yes." Only a government's formal recognition of the State of Israel will count toward a “Yes” resolution for this market. The primary resolution source for this market will be official government information. However, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.**Around 25–30 UN member states still withhold formal recognition of Israel as of September 2026, concentrated among Arab League members and other Muslim-majority countries plus Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela.** Most major diplomatic breakthroughs occurred via the 2020 Abraham Accords and subsequent expansions, leaving harder cases such as Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and several North African and Gulf states. The most recent catalyst is the September 16, 2026, trilateral agreement among Israel, Morocco, and the United States to upgrade liaison offices to full embassies, appoint ambassadors, restore direct flights, and finalize investment pacts—reinforcing momentum in existing normalization tracks. Saudi Arabia remains the highest-profile holdout; quiet security and intelligence coordination with Israel has reportedly increased amid Houthi attacks on Saudi infrastructure, though Riyadh continues to link full recognition to Palestinian issues. With the resolution date at year-end 2026, any additional recognitions would likely stem from accelerated bilateral or U.S.-facilitated talks in the final months.
