OpenAI’s confidential June 2026 SEC filing and August 2026 $7 billion employee tender that reaffirmed its $852 billion private valuation anchor trader expectations for a 2027 IPO at or above $1 trillion. Rapid revenue expansion to a roughly $40 billion annualized run rate—with enterprise now exceeding consumer subscriptions—combined with strategic backing from Amazon, Nvidia, and SoftBank supports market-implied odds favoring a $1.5 trillion-plus closing market cap at 55.5 percent. Persistent infrastructure-driven losses and CEO Sam Altman’s reported insistence on a $1 trillion floor, which has shifted timelines from a potential late-2026 listing, introduce execution and market-condition risks that keep probabilities distributed across the $1–1.5 trillion bands while pricing the “no IPO by end-2027” outcome at just 6.9 percent.

Market capitalization expresses the monetary value of a company’s outstanding shares, stated in its pricing currency. It is calculated as the number of shares outstanding multiplied by the closing share price on the first trading day.
If the relevant value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket.
Resolution will be based on the primary exchange’s official listing page. In the event that the relevant figure is not displayed, another reliable source will be used.
In the event of an interruption in the course of the normal trading session on OpenAI’s first day of trading (e.g., a circuit breaker or half-day), the market will resolve according to the official closing price of the abbreviated session. If no such official closing price is published, the market will resolve according to the next trading day on which an official closing price is published, treating that as the first day of trading for purposes of this market.
