The 2026 MLB ERA race remains highly fragmented with no pitcher commanding more than single-digit implied probability, as multiple starters post sub-3.00 marks with qualifying innings. Shohei Ohtani leads at 1.79 but on limited volume, while Jacob Misiorowski, Cam Schlittler, Chris Sale, Dylan Cease, and Cristopher Sánchez sit in a tight cluster behind him on stronger workloads. Late-season factors such as remaining schedule difficulty, bullpen support, and health will separate contenders, with September form and innings accumulation proving decisive for the lowest mark among qualified pitchers.
