Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads market pricing for next Quebec premier because his Parti Québécois maintains a consistent edge in francophone voter support and seat projections ahead of the October 5 election. Recent polls show the PQ holding roughly 28-30 percent support, ahead of or tied with Christine Fréchette’s Coalition Avenir Québec at 24-27 percent, with the Liberals under Charles Milliard further back. Plamondon’s decade of leadership experience and the PQ’s organizational gains contrast with Fréchette’s shorter tenure since her April leadership win and the CAQ’s lingering fatigue from the prior government. Ongoing trade tensions have boosted Fréchette’s personal ratings on economic management, narrowing the gap in some surveys, yet the PQ’s regional strength continues to favor its path to the most seats. The Liberal and Conservative parties remain positioned to split federalist votes without challenging the frontrunners.
