Recent polling during the early stages of the Quebec election campaign shows the Parti Québécois holding a lead for first place while the Coalition Avenir Québec has gained ground and the Parti Libéral du Québec has lost support. This volatility keeps the contest for second place tight between the PLQ and CAQ, with traders assigning them the highest implied probabilities. The PLQ benefits from concentrated backing in Montreal and among anglophone and allophone voters, whereas the CAQ draws more broadly outside urban centers and has improved among francophones and older voters. The Parti Québécois trails in second-place odds given its frontrunner status, and smaller parties like the PCQ and QS remain far behind. Scheduled debates and further regional polling could shift these dynamics before October 5.
