Redistricting approved earlier in 2026 shifted Florida’s 9th Congressional District to an R+8 Cook Partisan Voting Index by adding rural, Republican-leaning counties in central and southern Florida while splitting prior Democratic strongholds. Multiple nonpartisan ratings now classify the seat as Likely or Lean Republican. Dan Green secured the GOP nomination in the August 18 primary with a narrow plurality and has drawn endorsements from conservative leaders and veterans, positioning his campaign around affordability, tax relief, and alignment with broader Republican priorities. Incumbent Darren Soto, unopposed in the Democratic primary, retains name recognition and fundraising capacity, yet faces the altered electoral math. A late-August poll showed the candidates essentially tied, leaving room for campaign dynamics or turnout shifts to influence the November 3 outcome before traders price in a Republican advantage.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
