Privacy Policy — Streamline to Scale
Last updated: 19 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Shaz, trading as Sleek Marketing (”we”, “us”, “our”), based in the United Kingdom, collects and uses personal data in connection with the Streamline to Scale publication (the “Publication”). We are the data controller for the reader data described in this policy.
The Publication is hosted on Substack, which processes data on its own platform under its own Privacy Policy. Payments are processed by Stripe via Substack; we never see or store your card details.
1. What We Collect
Information you give us: your email address when you subscribe; your name if you provide it; any information you include in comments, chat messages, survey responses, or emails you send us; and, for founding members, the information you share when booking or attending your one-to-one call (for example scheduling details and information about your business).
Information collected automatically via Substack: subscription status and history, email opens and clicks, post views, referral activity, and approximate location or device data. This analytics data is collected by Substack and made available to us through the publisher dashboard.
Information from perks: if you redeem a subscriber perk hosted on a third-party platform (for example our course platform, Kajabi), that platform will collect the data needed to give you access, under its own privacy policy.
2. How We Use Your Data and Our Lawful Bases
We use your data to:
•Deliver the Publication — sending you posts, managing your free or paid subscription, and providing subscriber-only content and perks (lawful basis: performance of a contract).
•Provide founding member benefits — scheduling and delivering one-to-one calls (performance of a contract).
•Understand and grow the Publication — reviewing engagement analytics, improving content, and running referral rewards (legitimate interests).
•Tell you about our other products and services — such as our programmes, memberships, and offers, where you have subscribed to the Publication and have not opted out (legitimate interests / soft opt-in). Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
•Comply with legal obligations — accounting, tax, and responding to lawful requests (legal obligation).
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your personal data to train AI models.
3. Who We Share Data With
We share data only with service providers who help us run the Publication and our business: Substack (hosting, email delivery, subscriptions, analytics), Stripe (payment processing, via Substack), Kajabi (delivery of perks and training resources), scheduling and video call tools used for founding member calls, and our professional advisers where necessary. Each provider processes data under its own terms and appropriate safeguards.
Some of these providers are located outside the UK (for example, in the United States). Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision (including the UK-US Data Bridge, where applicable).
4. How Long We Keep Data
We keep your data for as long as you are subscribed, and for a reasonable period afterwards to deal with queries, maintain records, and comply with legal obligations (typically up to 6 years for financial records). If you unsubscribe, Substack manages the removal of your email from active mailing lists immediately.
5. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion; object to or restrict processing; data portability; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can also opt out of marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first.
Note that some rights requests relating to platform-level data (for example, your Substack account itself) may need to be actioned by Substack directly.
6. Cookies and Tracking
The Publication’s website is operated by Substack, which uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and analytics as described in Substack’s Privacy Policy and cookie disclosures. Emails sent through Substack include open and click tracking, which helps us understand which content is useful.
7. Children
The Publication is intended for business owners and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do, and material changes will be flagged in the Publication.
9. Contact
For any privacy questions or to exercise your rights, reply to any email from the Publication or contact us via sleek-marketing.co.uk.
