This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed country officially recognizes Israel as a state between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of intentions will not suffice to resolve this market to "Yes." Only a government's formal recognition of the State of Israel will count toward a “Yes” resolution for this market. The primary resolution source for this market will be official government information. However, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.As of mid-2026, 163 to 169 of the 192 other UN member states recognize Israel, with non-recognizers concentrated among Arab League and Organization of Islamic Cooperation members plus Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela. No new formal recognitions have occurred recently, though diplomatic relations have been restored or upgraded with Bolivia, Colombia, and Venezuela. Normalization talks, including potential Saudi Arabia involvement tied to U.S. security and nuclear arrangements, remain stalled. Syria's interim government has pursued security coordination since late 2025 without advancing recognition. A September 2025 wave of Western recognitions of Palestinian statehood has instead dominated diplomatic attention, alongside ongoing Abraham Accords implementation without expansion. These factors shape trader focus on whether any holdout states cross the recognition threshold before year-end amid limited bilateral momentum.
