This market will resolve to “Yes” if any orbital data center is successfully launched by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. “Orbital data center” refers to any spacecraft, satellite, or equivalent technology carrying computing infrastructure that is launched into Earth’s orbit for the purpose of providing data-center, cloud-computing, or artificial intelligence computing services and which includes at least 100 data-center-grade AI accelerators, GPUs, TPUs, or substantially equivalent compute processors, (e.g. NVIDIA H100 GPUs, Google TPUs, or equivalent or successor chips). “Successfully launched” refers to any launch which successfully places a qualifying orbital data center into Earth’s orbit. The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.SpaceX's detailed June 2026 roadmap for AI1 orbital compute satellites—targeting demonstrator launches by late 2027 with Nvidia-based racks and plans for up to a million data-center satellites—has anchored trader views on the feasibility of scaled AI infrastructure in orbit. Starcloud's November 2025 Starcloud-1 mission successfully ran large language model training and inference on a single Nvidia H100 GPU, while July 2026 patent awards for passive cooling and solar-powered tiles from Sophia Space and Caltech address key thermal barriers. Google’s Project Suncatcher prototypes with Planet Labs, slated for early 2027 TPUs, add competitive momentum alongside funding rounds for other orbital startups. These advances contrast with the market’s strict threshold of at least 100 data-center-grade accelerators, highlighting why near-term resolution hinges on 2027 test flights rather than full constellations.
