Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” holds an overwhelming market lead in the 2026 VMA Best Country category, driven by its record-setting chart run—including extended weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs—and its sweep of major nominations across the VMAs, CMAs, and ACMs. The track’s crossover appeal, strong critical and fan momentum, and Langley’s status as the year’s top country artist have solidified trader consensus around its frontrunner status. The other nominees—Shaboozey’s “Cowgirl,” Stella Lefty’s “Boston,” Tucker Wetmore’s “Brunette,” Kacey Musgraves’ “Dry Spell,” Luke Combs’ “Back in the Saddle,” and Lainey Wilson’s “Somewhere Over Laredo”—trail significantly, reflecting their more limited mainstream visibility and precursor results heading into the September 27 ceremony.
