This market will resolve to "Yes" if Apple officially releases a MacBook with a touchscreen by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". In order to be considered released, the product must be available for purchase by the general public within the specified timeframe. An announcement or unveiling alone is not sufficient. A qualifying release of a MacBook with a touchscreen by Apple will only count if it is explicitly branded a MacBook. For example, an iMac will not qualify to resolve this market to "Yes". A qualifying touchscreen must be a true screen; a touch bar will not qualify. The primary resolution source for this market will be official statements from Apple. However, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Recent reports from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman and supply-chain sources have solidified expectations for Apple's first touchscreen MacBook Pro, likely a redesigned high-end model with OLED display, Dynamic Island interface, and updated industrial design. These updates, paired with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips after skipping planned M6 variants to maintain schedule, point to a late-2026 or early-2027 window. macOS 27's touch-optimized features, including enhanced Sidecar support and gesture refinements, further align with this hardware shift. Trader consensus at 65% for a 2026 release reflects strong development momentum but accounts for typical Apple timeline slips or component constraints that could push initial shipments into 2027. Key near-term catalysts include fall launch events and any supply updates.
