Flávio Bolsonaro leads trader expectations for first place in Rio Grande do Sul's presidential first round due to a late-August Genial/Quaest state poll showing him at 34% against Lula's 28%, with all other candidates in single digits. As the Liberal Party nominee and standard-bearer for the Bolsonarista right following his father's ineligibility, Flávio benefits from stronger southern support compared with Lula's national edge. Low polling for alternatives such as Ronaldo Caiado, Romeu Zema, and Renan Santos further consolidates his position ahead of the October 4 vote. His planned September 2 campaign stop in the state alongside local PL allies reinforces momentum in a region where right-leaning voters have historically outperformed national averages.
