**Recent polling trends position the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) as the strongest contender for second place in the October 5, 2026 Quebec general election.** Aggregators such as 338Canada and Qc125, drawing from Léger and Pallas Data surveys through early September, show the Parti Québécois (PQ) leading at around 29%, with the CAQ at approximately 24% and the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ) close behind at 20-22%. The CAQ has gained ground since the campaign opened, particularly among francophone voters outside Montreal, while the PLQ has lost support. This shift under new CAQ leader Christine Fréchette has elevated the implied probability of a CAQ second-place finish in trader assessments. Regional variations and ongoing debates add uncertainty, but current vote intentions favor the CAQ over the PLQ or smaller parties for the runner-up spot.
