Recent polls ahead of the October 5 Quebec election show the Parti Québécois holding a lead near 28-29% while the Parti libéral du Québec and Coalition Avenir Québec cluster around 22-24%, with the Conservatives and Québec solidaire further back. This positioning has elevated PLQ prospects for second place, as the party has gained modest ground in late-campaign surveys from Léger, Nanos, and others amid CAQ slippage tied to cost-overrun controversies and voter dissatisfaction with the incumbent government. Seat projections from models like 338Canada and Qc125 reinforce a competitive race for official opposition status between the PLQ and CAQ, with regional strengths in Montreal favoring the Liberals. Trader consensus reflected in the market prices tracks these polling trends and the limited time left for major shifts before election day.
