Apple’s September 9 “Surprise and Shine” event is the dominant near-term catalyst for the foldable iPhone pricing market, with the device widely expected to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models as a premium “Ultra” or foldable variant. Supply-chain reports and analysts including Ming-Chi Kuo and TrendForce have converged on a starting price above $2,000—most recently pegged at $2,099–$2,299 for base configurations, with higher-storage tiers potentially exceeding $2,500 or even $3,000—driven by advanced OLED panels, liquid-metal hinges, larger batteries, and elevated memory costs. Production has scaled to hundreds of units daily with an August mass-production start, supporting a fall 2026 launch window while highlighting the challenges of meeting Apple’s strict crease and durability standards. Traders are weighing these consistent premium-pricing signals against any last-minute adjustments Apple might make to balance the bill of materials ahead of the official reveal.
