The wide dispersion of low probabilities across dozens of starters reflects a fragmented 2026 ERA race entering the final month, with no pitcher holding a commanding lead after strong showings from Jacob Misiorowski (1.97 ERA), Cam Schlittler (2.04), Shohei Ohtani (1.79), Dylan Cease (2.40), and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Key differentiators include innings qualification thresholds, remaining schedule difficulty, bullpen support, and injury or workload management risks that could alter final tallies. Recent hot streaks by names like Jesús Luzardo and Cristopher Sánchez keep the field fluid, while historical late-season volatility favors pitchers with favorable home/road splits and consistent strikeout-to-walk ratios. Trader consensus prices this uncertainty evenly rather than anointing any single contender.
