**James Talarico holds the edge in trader pricing for Collin County in the 2026 Texas U.S. Senate race.** The Democratic nominee secured his party's nomination after defeating Rep. Jasmine Crockett in the March primary and has posted narrow statewide leads in multiple September polls amid strong fundraising and suburban outreach. Collin County, a fast-growing Dallas-Fort Worth suburb and Ken Paxton's longtime political base, has shown measurable Democratic gains in recent cycles, including the election of the first Democratic state representative from the area in decades. Paxton won the Republican nomination by defeating incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the May runoff with former President Trump's backing, but recent polling shows the general election remains tight, with independents and suburban voters as pivotal blocs. Talarico's events in Plano have drawn large crowds, underscoring Democratic efforts to contest traditionally Republican suburban terrain where population growth and shifting voter demographics continue to influence outcomes.
