Alaska's August 18 nonpartisan top-four primary for the at-large U.S. House seat used a single ballot open to all candidates, advancing the highest vote-getters regardless of party to a November ranked-choice general election. Incumbent Republican Nick Begich led with roughly 46 percent, followed by independent Bill Hill at about 31 percent. Democrat Matt Schultz, who had polled competitively earlier, suspended his campaign in July and later withdrew, triggering adjustments that allowed Democrat Eric Hafner and Libertarian Jim McDermott to advance despite lower primary totals and limited state ties. Official results were certified shortly before the general-election filing deadline, confirming the final four amid a field of 15 candidates.
