The Huancayo mayoral race for the October 4, 2026, election remains fragmented, with trader consensus reflecting a wide-open contest among more than two dozen candidates. Emerson Nolasco Delgado (Podemos Perú) leads at 38.5% amid earlier online surveys showing him ahead, while Rony Paolo Vejarano Pérez sits at 17.6% and others trail further. The JNE published finalized lists in August 2026, highlighting participation from parties including APP, Acción Popular, and Renovación Popular, with no incumbent advantage due to term limits. Limited recent polling data, combined with split voter preferences across urban and district blocs, sustains the tight positioning. Late campaign events, turnout patterns in the final month, or shifts among undecided voters could consolidate support and alter probabilities before election day.
