Rebecca Bennett holds a commanding lead in the NJ-7 House race, with traders assigning her an 83.5% implied probability against incumbent Thomas Kean Jr. at 17.5%. Bennett, a former Navy helicopter pilot, secured the Democratic nomination in June after a decisive primary victory and has maintained momentum through strong fundraising exceeding $4 million and endorsements including from EMILYs List and the DCCC Red to Blue program. Kean’s four-month absence from Congress due to illness, which included missing over 140 votes and only resolved in late June, contributed to sharply negative approval ratings around 37% favorable. Mid-September polling showed Bennett ahead 47-42 among likely voters, while the firefighters union flipped its endorsement to her and forecasters such as Sabato’s Crystal Ball and Inside Elections shifted the contest toward Democratic lean or tilt. External support for Kean from Trump-aligned super PACs and Elon Musk’s PAC has not offset these factors in the current trader consensus.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
