Chiang Wan-an, the Kuomintang incumbent Taipei mayor seeking re-election on November 28, 2026, holds a commanding position in trader pricing due to sustained high approval ratings near 65 percent and consistent polling leads over Democratic Progressive Party nominee Puma Shen (Shen Bo-yang), such as 56-30 percent margins earlier in the year. Taipei's partisan lean favors the KMT, reinforced by Chiang's focus on municipal governance and limited recent disruptions to his campaign. Shen, nominated in May after legislative service, remains relatively untested in citywide races and faces structural challenges in a blue-leaning electorate. Minor candidates like Kuo Hsi register negligible support. Late shifts could still emerge from scandals, turnout surges, or national events before registration closes and voting occurs.
