The 2026 Quebec general election is scheduled to be held no later than October 5, 2026. This market will resolve to the individual who is formally appointed as Premier of Quebec as a result of the specified elections. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally appointed as Premier following the specified elections. Any interim or caretaker head of government will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Premier is appointed by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Quebec; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Paul St-Pierre Plamondon of the Parti Québécois leads market pricing for next premier due to sustained polling strength ahead of the October 5, 2026, general election, including recent byelection gains and consistent first-place positioning in surveys through the summer. Christine Fréchette, the incumbent CAQ premier who succeeded François Legault in April after winning her party's leadership, trails amid efforts to stabilize support during the early campaign phase launched on August 27. Charles Milliard, the Liberal leader elected earlier in 2026, holds a smaller share reflecting his party's lower standing in current aggregates. Minor probabilities for other figures align with their parties' more limited projected seat totals under the province's electoral system. Campaign focus on economic pressures, immigration thresholds, and housing has reinforced the PQ's edge in recent weeks while leaving room for shifts before voting concludes.
