Recent polling aggregates show the Parti Québécois holding a clear lead in popular support ahead of the October 5 vote, leaving the race for second place between the Parti libéral du Québec and the Coalition Avenir Québec. Late-campaign surveys indicate the Liberals have edged ahead in several releases as CAQ support softened after earlier gains tied to trade and leadership perceptions. This volatility, combined with regional riding dynamics and the first leaders’ debate, has produced closely matched trader-implied probabilities for which of the two parties finishes second. Further shifts in undecided voters or regional turnout patterns could widen or reverse the narrow gap before election night.
